For some people working from home (WFH) means working from bed (WFB) as the simply love the cosiness and simplicity set-up. However, working from bed sound relaxing, but did you know that working from bed can reduce your productivity and can lead to serious health issues?
Working from bed decreases sleep quality, which decreases work productivity, energy levels, and quality of life.
Working from bed is also leads to the back pain, unstructured spin and another ergonomics disorder that you may not feel it now, but in the future. This issue does not only occur from lying down, but also sedentary habits.
In that case, we have some tips for you to working productively during work from home.
- Keep your posture good
You do not have to own a fancy work table and chair, you can try to use any table that is comfortable for you to work.
- Stretch your body every 90 minutes
While working, you definitely use less movement while working. Give 5-10 minutes stretching your body or walking every 90 minutes can help your body more relax and fit.
- Do not forget your eyes!
To reduce your risk of dry eyes during computer use, try this exercise: Every 20 minutes, blink 10 times by closing your eyes as if falling asleep (very slowly). This will help rewet your eyes.
- Let it be light in your room
Light influence your working performances and productivity. Poor lighting is associated with a range of ill-health effects for both physical and mental, such as eye strain, headaches, fatigue, stress, and anxiety in more high-pressured work environments.
- Change your Clothes
Clothes have a strong psychological impact on motivation when we work from home. According to Dr. Karen Pine, a psychology professor at the University of Hertfordshire, dressing too casually can make us less focused and alert. You can be comfortable. Just change into something that signals to your brain that it’s time to work.
Those are tips of healthy and comfy working when you are working from home. Remember, you still may lie down on you bed for a while but only in a few hours to prevent the laziness mood in you and for the sake of your health.
